演讲题目:Advancing Actuarial Science – what will the work of actuaries look like when you retire?
摘要:
A professional body, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) seeks to “advance all matters relevant to actuarial science”– to ensure the long term sustainability of actuarial science as discipline, inform the work of practitioners and industry and inform public policy debate. Some of the research of today will become the practice of tomorrow and could be integral to your work as actuaries or researchers of the future.
The IFoA has a long history of researching areas that push the boundaries of actuarial science – from the development of mortality tables to more modern risk management techniques. Sarah Mathieson will provide a brief introduction to some of the research that the IFoA currently undertakes to support its objective. What are the hot topics? How is the research delivered? Where does the research go? How does the research influence the content of the actuarial exams? How can I get involved? These are just a few of the questions that Sarah will seek to answer during this interactive session. There will also be plenty of time for you ask your own questions about the IFoA’s research and the work of the IFoA more generally.
