On November 18, the Confucius Institute at The University of Pernambuco contracted by CUFE hosted the third China-Brazil International Academic Symposium on Economic and Social Development, which was broadcast live on various local media platforms in Brazil. President Yaoqi Wang from CUFE, Consul General Yan Yuqing of the Consulate General of China in Recife, Prof. Pedro Falco, Rector of the University of Pernambuco, and Prof. Karl Schurster, Director of the Confucius Institute in Brazil, attended the seminar and delivered speeches.

The China-Brazil economic and social development research center in the Confucius Institute of The University of Pernambuco has set up an important platform for promoting communication, cooperation, exchange of ideas between scholars of the two countries. The annual China-Brazil International Academic Symposium on Economic and Social Development has not only strengthened the academic ties between the two countries and expanded the fields of academic research, but also continuously promoted the integration of the Confucius Institute into the academic community in the local universities and enhanced its influence.
